Soft Tissue Surgery Services
Soft tissue surgeries treat conditions involving the organs, skin, and other internal structures—whether preventive or restorative. Procedures include spay and neuter surgery, mass or tumor removal, foreign body and bladder stone removal, wound repair, and exploratory abdominal surgery. Our team provides clear communication, compassionate care, and detailed recovery instructions for a smooth healing process.
Advanced Pet Orthopedic Surgery
MAC Animal Hospital specializes in orthopedic procedures that restore mobility, relieve pain, and enhance quality of life. We perform ACL (cranial cruciate ligament) repairs to stabilize joints, MPL (medial patellar luxation) corrections for dislocated kneecaps, and complex bone surgeries for fractures or deformities. Each procedure is done with precision, compassion, and a focus on long-term strength and comfort.
Safe Anesthesia and Pain Management
Your pet’s safety and comfort are our highest priorities. Each surgical patient receives a personalized anesthesia and pain management plan with pre-surgery bloodwork, continuous monitoring, IV fluids, temperature regulation, and gentle post-op care. Our team guides you through recovery so you know exactly what to expect and how to support your pet’s healing at home.

Do I need to schedule an appointment for surgery?
Yes, for any procedure involving anesthesia or sedation, such as spays, neuters, or orthopedic surgeries, an appointment must be scheduled in advance. This allows us to conduct a pre-surgical evaluation and ensure your pet is prepared for a safe procedure.
What pre-surgical instructions should I follow?
We will provide detailed instructions tailored to your pet, but most pets should not eat after midnight the night before surgery. Water may be allowed up until a few hours prior. Please let us know about any medications your pet is currently taking, as some may need to be paused or adjusted.
Is anesthesia safe for my pet?
Yes, we take every precaution to ensure anesthesia safety. MAC Animal Hospital strongly recommend that all animals undergoing anesthetic and surgical procedures have a pre-anesthetic profile. Ailments such as anemia, liver disorders, kidney malfunction, blood clotting disorders and infections may not be evident upon physical examination. Pre-surgical bloodwork allows us to utilize the safest sedation medication for your pet, tailored to how their body processes it. This personalized approach reduces risks and ensures smoother recovery.
Will my pet be in pain after surgery?
Minimizing pain is a top priority. We use pain management, including medications before, during, and after surgery. You’ll also receive detailed at-home instructions and prescriptions to keep your pet comfortable during recovery.
How long will it take for my pet to recover?
Recovery time varies depending on the procedure. Minor surgeries like spays or mass removals typically heal within 10–14 days, while orthopedic procedures such as ACL repairs may require 6–8 weeks of rest and restricted activity. We’ll provide a custom recovery plan and schedule follow-up visits as needed.
